Understand the process
A business may have dozens of automation ideas but limited time to validate them. Choose a process that happens regularly, has clear inputs and is easy to check. An internal notification or CRM task is usually easier to pilot than an irreversible financial action.

How to approach the implementation
Map the current process
Observe several real examples. Record the trigger, systems, people, waiting time and exceptions instead of relying only on the ideal process.
Compare candidates
Consider frequency, time spent, consistency of rules and availability of system access. Also consider the consequence of a wrong result and whether it can be reversed.
Set a narrow acceptance test
For a lead-routing pilot, require every valid enquiry to reach the correct queue exactly once, with invalid enquiries visible for review. Define how duplicate and missing-data cases should behave.
Start with a controlled rollout
Run against sample data, then a limited live segment. Expand after the owner confirms the results and the team can operate the exception process.

Hours saved are estimates until measured. Include monitoring and exception handling when calculating the actual benefit.
