App engineering · Technical documentation

Mobile app patent support, from the technical side.

Make your app's proposed mechanism easier to explain, demonstrate and review. Esperto prepares architecture, prototypes and technical evidence for your patent professional.

Our role is software engineering. Patent advice, claim drafting and filing remain with your qualified patent professional.

Technical review pack linking an app mechanism, prototype and engineering evidence

Explain the mechanism. Test the assumptions. Document the result.

For founders and product teams

Turn an app concept into a clear technical account.

You may be exploring a patent for mobile applications, preparing for an adviser meeting or responding to questions about an existing prototype. We help organise the engineering facts so that the discussion can move beyond a feature list.

Bring your current development stage and the questions you need answered. We agree the technical outputs before estimating the work.

What we can deliver

A practical review pack, built around your project.

01

Technical discovery

A written account of the problem, operating conditions, existing approach and proposed mechanism, with assumptions clearly labelled.

02

Architecture & flow diagrams

Component, sequence and data-flow diagrams explaining what runs on the device, on the server and in connected services.

03

Focused app prototype

An agreed proof of concept that demonstrates the behaviour under review. We scope the experiment before a full product build.

04

Test evidence

A reproducible test setup, baseline comparisons, measured results and known limitations. Evidence is reported without patentability conclusions.

05

Technical review pack

Implementation explanations, dependency notes and a structured index of diagrams and evidence for your appointed patent professional.

06

Review & version tracking

Technical walkthroughs, responses to implementation questions and a change log connecting each review pack to the relevant prototype version.

Working together

The right question goes to the right specialist.

A useful technical pack explains what the system does and how it works. Your adviser determines its legal significance.

Esperto: engineering support

  • App architecture and implementation explanations
  • Prototype development and agreed testing
  • Diagrams, dependencies and change records
  • Technical walkthroughs with your adviser

Your patent professional: legal work

  • Patentability and prior-art assessment
  • Inventorship, ownership and filing strategy
  • Claims, specifications and official submissions
  • Deadlines, prosecution and freedom-to-operate advice

An agreed sequence

From discovery to a documented handover.

01

Scope

Share the project stage and non-confidential objectives. Agree deliverables, access and confidentiality terms.

02

Map

Describe the mechanism, system boundaries, dependencies and questions for review.

03

Demonstrate

Implement and test the agreed proof of concept where evidence is needed.

04

Review

Walk through the technical material with you and, if authorised, your appointed adviser.

05

Handover

Supply the agreed files, version references and open questions. Scope further product work separately.

Planning the work

Scope and cost depend on the technical question.

A diagram review, an isolated experiment and a production app are different engagements. Our estimate identifies the prototype boundaries, documentation format, test coverage, review rounds and handover requirements. Delivery dates follow the agreed scope.

Official fees and patent-professional fees are separate. Technical preparation cannot promise that an application will be filed, granted or commercially valuable.

What stage is your app at?

Tell us whether you have an idea, existing documentation or a working prototype, and whether a patent professional is already involved.

Use a non-confidential summary here. Keep unpublished invention details, source code and credentials out of this form. We can agree the appropriate confidentiality terms and sharing process before a detailed review.

Before you enquire

Mobile application patent support FAQs.

Can Esperto help me patent an app?

We support the technical preparation: discovery, architecture, prototypes and implementation documentation. Your independently appointed patent professional advises on eligibility, searches, claims, filing and prosecution. We do not file patents or guarantee a grant.

Is every mobile application patentable?

No. An app idea or a working product is not enough to establish patentability. The claimed invention, prior art and country-specific requirements must be assessed by a qualified patent professional.

Do I need an existing prototype?

No. We can begin with technical discovery. If a specific uncertainty requires an experiment, we scope that prototype with you. A complete production app is a separate development scope.

Do you provide a patent attorney or registered patent agent?

This service does not include legal representation or a promised referral. You appoint your own qualified patent professional. With your authorisation, we can explain the technical work to them.

How much does the technical work cost?

We estimate after reviewing the app stage, diagrams required, prototype complexity, experiments and review rounds. Patent-office fees, professional legal fees and filing costs are separate and are not included in our technical estimate.

What should I share in the first enquiry?

Send a non-confidential summary, your intended markets, current development stage and any planned launch date. Do not include unpublished invention details, source code or credentials. Agree confidentiality and a sharing process before supplying sensitive material.
