Image Resizer in KB
Make an image fit your file size limit. Choose 20 KB, 50 KB, 100 KB or your own target, preview the result and download it—all on your device.
We adjust quality first, then reduce dimensions if needed. JPG replaces transparency with white. PNG targets usually require smaller dimensions. 1 KB = 1,000 bytes.
Your image stays on this device.

How to resize an image in KB
- Choose a JPG, PNG or WebP from your device.
- Select a target size or enter a custom limit in KB.
- Choose your output format. JPG is a useful starting point for photographs.
- Press Resize image, inspect the size, dimensions and preview, then download.
File size and image dimensions are different
KB measures the size of the saved file. Pixels measure width and height. This tool tries compression first for JPG and WebP, then reduces dimensions when needed. It does not enlarge the original dimensions. Very small targets can make text or faces difficult to read.
Choose the right format
JPG works well for photographs and uses a white background for transparent images. WebP supports transparency and often produces smaller files, but some forms do not accept it. PNG supports transparency; its file size is controlled here by reducing dimensions. Always check the destination’s requirements.
Frequently asked questions
How do I resize an image to 20 KB, 50 KB or 100 KB?
Choose your image, select a preset or enter a custom target, choose the output format and press Resize image. Check the preview and download the result. The tool reduces quality or dimensions to reach a file size at or below your target.
Will the image be exactly the size I enter?
The result is at or below your target, rather than padded to an exact size. If the browser cannot reach the target, the tool shows an error. This tool counts 1 KB as 1,000 bytes.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Resizing and previews run locally in your browser. Your selected image is not uploaded to Esperto or an image-processing API.
Will resizing reduce image quality?
It can. JPG and WebP use compression, and smaller targets may require reducing dimensions. PNG preserves pixels at the chosen dimensions, but reaching a small target may require shrinking the image. Always inspect the preview before using it.
Can I use the result for an application form?
Check the form’s file size, format and pixel dimension requirements. This tool targets file size and preserves the aspect ratio approximately when dimensions are reduced; it does not guarantee compliance with any application’s rules.
Which image formats are supported?
Upload a JPG, PNG or WebP up to 20 MB and 24 megapixels. Export JPG, PNG or WebP where your browser supports it. JPG uses a white background for transparent areas. HEIC, SVG, GIF and batch processing are not supported; animation and original metadata are not preserved.
